Ms. Perkins' Introduction
in French

¡Hola! Bonjour! I am Wendy S. Perkins, a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade French and Spanish teacher at the Walsh Middle School in Framingham, Massachusetts. I wish I could bring my students with me to Mexico to experience first-hand a foreign language, culture and environment. Fortunately, through my blog I will update them on my work and activities in the mangroves, coral reefs, beaches, and neighboring village. Through Earthwatch’s “Mexican Mangroves and Wildlife” expedition, I will be working with scientists along the Costa Alegre (Pacific Coast) of Mexico. In addition, this is the second year that our school has raised funds for the local elementary school in La Manzanilla. I will have the opportunity to visit the local school and present our donation as well as perform community service. It’s hard to believe that three years ago I was working in the trenches as a public defender! Now, in my teaching career I will connect my Walsh students to a small segment of the Spanish-speaking world.
